Ntt-east webcams
On the 10th of July 2006 the site moved from http://www.ntt-east.co.jp/fukushima/mado/
to http://www.ntt-fukushima.com/ and
now doesn't work on a Windows Mobile 5 device. This site suffers from flash
(now available but doesn't handle the site), also the complex Windows media
files don't help. Here are links to some of the live cameras
Saving stuff prior to a clean reset
- Activesync the device
- Check programs installed
- Check Settings
- Do a hard reset by:
1. Press and hold the Calendar and Wireless buttons.
2. While holding down these buttons, use the stylus to lightly press the Reset
button for about two seconds.
3. When the screen begins to fade, release the Calendar and Wireless
buttons first, and then remove the stylus from the Reset button.
4. Plug the device into the AC Adapter or press the Reset button again.

Adding Japanese fonts
Asukals LetsJapan does the job but is a bit severe (it changes a number of
things that don't need changing). After it's done its stuff change some of
the following:
- The regional setting back to English (Australia)
- Registry Key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls] SystemLCID back to 409 (Hex) 1033
Decimal
- Registry Key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\International] LCID
from 411 Hex, 1041 Decimal back to 409 (Hex) 1033
Decimal
- Registry Key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\International] ACP
from 3A4 Hex, 932 Decimal back to 4E4 Hex, 1252 Decimal
- Registry Key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload] Default from e0010411
Hex back to e0010409 (needed for predictive text to work again)
- Registry Key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload\1] Default from e0010411
Hex back to e0010409 (needed for predictive text to work again)
To install it but to just get Japanese fonts for viewing:
- Install on device
- Rotate screen to get registry changes to stick
- Do a soft reset
- Now there is too much Japanese, so set regional setting back to English
(Australia)
- Do a soft reset
- Registry Key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls] SystemLCID back to 409 Hex, 1033
Decimal
- Registry Key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload] Default from e0010411
Hex back to e0010409
- Registry Key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload\1] Default
from e0010411 Hex back to e0010409
- Rotate screen, off then on, then do a soft reset
